Imaging Department
The Imaging Department within the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre
and used by Orwell is staffed by experienced professionals and is
equipped with state of the art equipment including the permanently
sited CT scanner, ultrasound machines and digital fluoroscopy.
Further services are available in the Trust’s main building.
The RIS PACS system allows digital images and reports to be sent
electronically. This has increased the speed in which reports reach
referrers and has created a filmless environment.
All services are available to private patients through a
specially agreed arrangement between the Orwell Private
Cardiothoracic Unit and the BTUH Trust.
